I've officially moved to...

Sunday, May 14, 2006

Goodbye Toronto, Hello Kitty...er...Hong Kong!

Thanks for the wonderful 'surprise' farewell party friends! Thanks for all the last minute Timmies, breakfasts, lunches, dinners and meet up's! Thanks for calling and texting me when I was sick this past week. BTW and FYI, I'm 70% better - still believing to be 100% for tomorrow's flight! Thanks for showing me that you're right with me in prayers this summer! Thanks for everything...!

For those of you who have not received my prayer letter and still want to - please make a comment with your email address and I'll send it to you. I've decided to take a break from the Xanga world and venture into blogspot for my three month adventure. If you're curious as to what I'll be up to this summer check out my new blog (below) for updates!

Until then...peace and love.

changes.

In the past few days there have been so many changes and transitions.

There has been great news and also not so great news - but through it all I am seeing the beauty in the different seasons of life.

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven.
Ecclesiastes 3:1

A week ago we had the God given opportunity to meet up with one of the youth we had met in Little Buffalo, Alberta years ago during our missions trip. She came to Toronto to visit and Pat and I got the chance to take her around to see the sights of our city. From Fairview to Pacific Mall! Hah! Much time has passed since we last saw her and even heard about some of the youth in the reserve - a lot has changed. We had a really great time re-connecting and we're so extremely proud of her and all her accomplishments.

----------------------------------

A really close friend of mine shared some not so great news with me but I'm so thankful for his strength and his trusting heart in the Lord. Stay hopeful and remember that God is faithful no matter what circumstance and conclusion. I'm praying for you...

----------------------------------

This past weekend Pat and I were 'sworn' in as Lauren Rose Wan's (our youngest niece) God-parents [FYI: Pat's the God-father while I'm the God-mother - haha just kidding!]. It was a surreal experience because it places a heavier responsibility and privilege on Mui and myself to raise her up loving the Lord. What an amazing thing we have been entrusted with.

Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. Proverbs 22:6

----------------------------------

I received an enormous encouragement from Louie G. in the mail the other day along with a gift to our YCCF ministry. I'm still blown away at their humility at Passion and their 100% support of us at York to seek God's fame and renown on our campus and country. God is providing in ways like we've never seen before - I'm so excited for next year!

----------------------------------

A couple weeks ago Kelly got engaged! Congratulations to you and Vinnie! I am so privileged and honored to be a part of that monumental day in your lives...Thank you for letting me rejoice with you!

Today Kells and I went to Windsor Bridal Store looking for potential wedding dresses and it hit me. She's moving onto the next stage in her life and soon many of us will be in that 'next stage' in 4-5 years.  I never knew time would be passing so quickly. University will be done in another two years and who knows what will come next? I always feel like I still have a lot of time and in some cases I do - but in reality - life will pass me by if I don't take time to be grounded, to be quiet, to be still.

----------------------------------

It was great seeing a bunch of YCCF people tonight for dinner. Thanks for organizing everything Pammy! 'Twas a night of stuffing our faces and just catching up. I found out that I'll be going to the same part of China that Viv and Ev went to last year! How exciting is that? It seems as though many people are going to that part this year - there must be something about that province...

----------------------------------

After dinner I headed out to meet my funny friend Teesh at Timmies. But God had other plans in addition to our meeting...I bumped into the YOAH guys - the 'original four' at the same Tims! How bizarre was that?! It definitely reminded me of our good ol' high school days...

In any case - it was a great night of catching with Teesh as she unloaded all her crazy stories...All I can say is that my prayer life has been REVIVED! Hah! What a great night. You're too funny - I shall miss your straight up in your face way of communicating and our insanely embarrassing laughs when I'm in the HK.

----------------------------------

This weekend will be our one year. Time has flown by so quickly. It seems as though it was yesterday that our story unfolded...perhaps it's because we still feel like its just begun. I'm so excited to see what He has in store for us this summer in HK/China and what He will show us for next year.

Four years ago I met Tisha Rachel Oritzio (HAHAHA). Fast forward to now - she happens to be one of my greatest friends (in my lows & in my highs - oh you know!), crazy accountability partner (you don't beat around the bush), fellow servant leader & visionary (I admire your attitude especially what you go through sometimes - thanks for believing in me & sharing dreams close to your heart), mutual ranter/encourager (We just 'get' each other - especially when either one of us is frustrated), great 'insight' on certain individuals (haha), matchmaker ("He's funny - really!), inside joker (MY insight haha, HO-SAN & U-am-bo) and sushi stuffer (too many occasions to count!).

Happy 2*th Birthday my dear! Thankful for such an amazing friend who understands and supports me through the darkest valley's as well as rejoices with me on the highest mountain's! You got my back and I got yours. Thanks for being a HUGE blessing in my life...HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

------------------------------------------------------

Side Note:

Thank you for all your kind comments and concerns. The last post was definitely written in a moment, I repeat, moment of frustration. Thanks for reminding me to get over myself, to snap out of it but more importantly showing me how much all of you care. I am one extremely blessed girl.
